Two Pledges / Two Purposes / one campaign

  • This year, St. Paul’s is seeking financial commitments to our 2024 operating budget as part of the Building Centennial Campaign to fund our long-term future.

  • You can make your pledge online, by dropping your pledge card in the offertory plate on Sunday, or by mailing in your card.

What will the Building Centennial Campaign support?

  • A thorough, loving, and historically sensitive restoration of our 1920’s building

    • A new student-ministry center in the corner of the building with the highest student foot traffic and visibility.

    • All new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, sound, and fire-suppression systems.

    • Additional choir seating in the chancel, and preservation of extraordinary choral acoustics.

    • Subtle changes in the nave to improve accessibility and allow for more attractive and useful configurations for congregations of 75-100.

    • Comfortable, convenient, equitable wheelchair access throughout the entire facility.

  • A complete restoration of our 1927 Skinner organ

    • Restoration of all the original pipes and mechanisms that have been in use in recent years.

    • Restoration and replacement of pipes that were removed from the organ in the 1940’s.

    • Installation of vintage Skinner pipes (salvaged from other instruments) and custom fabricated pipes to complete the 1927 plan with sections that were never installed.

    • A new state-of-the-art organ console and all new electronic wiring.

  • Demolition of the 1959 office and church-school additions and construction of new facilities between the church and the Booker House

    • A large parish hall with glass doors opening onto a landscaped courtyard including a new playground.

    • A visible, welcoming, accessible street-level reception area facing University Avenue to facilitate more meaningful engagement with the community and better hospitality for visitors and community partners.

    • Expanded green space along Chancellor Street with public seating areas and large trees.

    • Larger, more welcoming, and better-located choir room and nursery space.

    • Sustainable technology to put St. Paul’s in the forefront of green building in Charlottesville and the Diocese of Virginia’s net-zero efforts.
