The Charlottesville Free Clinic provides a volunteer community health support system that offers high-quality care to the working uninsured who would otherwise have no access to health care. The clinic welcomes groups or individuals interested in making and donating food for volunteers in the evenings. There are also more specific volunteer positions, such as pharmacy technicians, doctors, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, and lab technicians. A new volunteer orientation is held every 6-8 weeks for prospective volunteers, followed by on-the-job training. Volunteers generally work one shift per month.
