We welcome new boys and girls into the Children Choir all time. Children who are able to read printed text are also ready to read some music notation and are welcome to come sing with the choir.
Children's Choir Rehearsals are held on Sundays after the 10 o' clock service, from 11.15 am - noon in the church school wing and on Sundays that the choir performs at 9:30 a.m. in the chancel.
The Children's Choir performs once a month during the 10 am Sunday Service and also for St. Nicholas Celebration, St. Francis Day, Christmas Pageant Sunday, Christmas Eve Service, Easter, and Church School Festival Sunday.
The Children's Choir Repertoire includes unison as well as two and three part treble arrangements. Our repertoire includes music by Helen Kemp, Bob Chilcott, Michael Jothen, John Rutter and others. We are also learning songs from "The Hymnal 1982", "Lift every Voice" and "Wonder, Love and Praise" and other hymn collections.
Our regular rehearsal begins with a short snack time. Sallie Brown provides yummy snacks and drinks every week and supports the Children's Choir in many ways. After snack time we usually have a short voice training session before we start learning new songs and freshening up our repertoire. We also spend time with musical games.
